A Fusion of Cultures and Color: Bridget & Akanksh’s Indian Wedding in Crete

We’re so thrilled to share Bridget & Akanksh’s incredible Indian wedding in Crete — a joyful fusion of cultures, colors, and heartfelt moments that filled every corner of the island with love and laughter.

When we first dreamed of our wedding, we knew we wanted something extraordinary — a celebration that honored both our cultures and brought our families together in a place that felt magical. Crete, with its sunshine, sea views, and warm hospitality, was the perfect destination for us.
We worked with Caroline from Moments to plan not one, but two weddings — a vibrant Indian wedding and a classic Western ceremony the following day. My husband is Indian, and we travelled from the US with more than a hundred of our closest family and friends. From the very beginning, Caroline made everything so easy and enjoyable, even with two completely different weddings on consecutive days.

Akanksh made a lively entrance with his friends and family dancing to the beat of live dhol drummers — the energy was incredible! My entrance was filled with emotion as I walked under a delicate chadar veil held by my cousins. We exchanged vows under the mandap as the Cretan sun glowed warmly above us — it truly felt like a dream.

Caroline was amazing to communicate with and worked tirelessly to make all our requests come to life. She found authentic Indian catering, sourced dhol drummers who flew in for live performances, and connected us with the most talented local vendors — DJs, bartenders, photographers, and more. Her creativity and organization brought our ideas to life perfectly.
Our Indian wedding in Crete took place at a stunning private villa surrounded by olive groves. Its white walls became the perfect canvas for the vivid colors we’d envisioned — hot pinks, emerald greens, ruby reds, and shimmering golds. A floral mandap draped in pink and orange blooms stood at the heart of the garden, surrounded by garlands, lanterns, and bright seating cushions that created a vibrant, joyful atmosphere.

After the ceremony, we enjoyed cocktails, an incredible Indian feast, and the most energetic dance floor. Our guests were amazed by the performances — from family routines to a Bollywood-style surprise number — and our first dance under chandeliers and hanging flowers was a moment we’ll never forget.

Looking back, our destination wedding in Crete was everything we’d hoped for — full of color, emotion, and love. It was the perfect fusion of our two worlds, and we’ll forever be grateful to Caroline and the Moments team for bringing it all to life.
